    Josh

    PRESIDENT
    Born and raised in Gibsons, BC, Josh eventually moved to Nanaimo attending VIU where he graduated from the Carpentry Foundations Program in 2001, the Red Seal Carpentry Program in 2007.

    Josh founded Shining Knight Construction in 2009. He brings 23 years of experience to the team specializing in Finishing Carpentry, Business Management and Leadership. Josh finds inspiration in a sense of accomplishment, “Seeing what you did at the end of the day, the end of a project” He is also inspired to help people make a home their own. He prides himself on problem solving, teaching, and empowering the SKC team members to do their best.

    In his spare time, you will find Josh camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and spending time with his family and volunteering with the Scouts of Canada.

    Danielle

    SALES MANAGER
    Born and raised in Vancouver, Danielle earned her Bachelor of Business Administration at VIU and was a Financial Advisor for 18 years. Her specialty is contact management and organization. She is passionate about green initiatives and as co-owner of Shining Knight Construction she has 15 years of experience helping people’s dreams become a reality in the construction realm. Danielle likes camping, hiking, travelling, arts and crafts and nature photography with her family.

    Dave

    SR. PROJECT MANAGER
    Dave was raised in Nanaimo and brings 24 years of construction experience to the job. He attended the VIU Foundations program in 2000. His areas of expertise entail framing and siding. He prides himself on his attention to detail and is inspired by customer satisfaction and a great finished product. He loves to spend his spare time outdoors.

    Shane

    PROJECT MANAGER
    Born and raised in Nanaimo, Shane has 22 years under his tool belt as a Red Seal Carpenter specializing in interior and exterior finishing. Shane prides himself on his ability to work closely with clients and subtrades to bring the best possible experience to project. His goal, with each project, is to step back and be truly proud of the outcome. Shane spends his time away from the job site with his wonderful family.

    Kelly

    ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER
    Born and raised in Calgary, AB. Kelly has 25 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper. As a graduate of Grant MacEwan College Kelly has enhanced her education experience with payroll and Canadian tax courses. Kelly is a problem solver, time manager and organizer. In her spare time Kelly likes to walk, hike, exercise, travel and spend time with her husband. She is inspired by the company she works for.

    Graeme

    SITE SUPERINTENDENT
    Born and raised in Nanaimo with 15 years experience as a Red Seal Carpenter Graeme’s focus is framing and concrete and exterior finishing. His inspiration is his beautiful family. He keeps busy during his spare time with is 2 small children.

    Caleb

    APPRENTICE CARPENTER
    Caleb was raised in Kamloops, BC and is a 2nd year Carpenter Apprentice specializing in framing and foundation work. He looks forward to broadening his skills as a carpenter. He prides himself on his positive attitude, solving problems and working well with others. His inspiration comes from satisfied customers and an awesome finished product.

    Caleb considers his greatest accomplishment his beautiful kids and in his spare time loves to landscape, listen to and play music, do various outdoor activities and spend time with his kids.

  • Craig

    APPRENTICE CARPENTER
    Craig was born and raised in Nanaimo and has 8 years experience in the construction industry. He is currently a first year apprentice. His specialty is cabinetry and general construction. He loves to explore Vancouver Island in his spare time and make toys.

  • Glenn

    CARPENTER
    Glenn has 6 years experience in construction. After earning his Red Seal Carpenter Certification from VIU in Nanaimo he chose to focus on exterior siding and interior finishing. He specializes in live edge shelves, mantles, and prides himself on his quality workmanship.

  • Ethan

    APPRENTICE CARPENTER
    Hailing form Martensville Saskatchewan, Ethan has 4.5 years experience in construction and is currently a first year apprentice. He has a team-based mindset and is keen to learn from each project and the people he works with. His inspiration is that feeling you get at the completion of a build. Aside from work and school, Ethan invests time in music, fitness and searching out great local breweries.

  • Victor

    APPRENTICE CARPENTER

    Victor is a 3rd year apprentice at Vancouver Island University. He has 2 years construction experience. He loves being on the move and learning new things to better himself. It’s nice being part of the building process and seeing the whole process from start to finish. You can find Victor rock climbing and cooking. Being active is his main priority.

  • Richard

    APPRENTICE CARPENTER

    Richard is a 3rd year apprentice at Vancouver Island University. He has 4.5 years of construction experience. “I love working with my hands and making something out of nothing as well as the satisfaction of seeing the finished product”. In his free time, Richard spends time with his wife, raising their two little boys. They go hiking and camping with their dog.

  • Jen

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
    After living in Florida and Colorado, studying to become an RMT, Jen settled back on Vancouver Island. Jen worked in the outdoor industry for 10 years before coming to SKC and her greatest accomplishments are climbing Mt. Baker with her daughter, riding Hurricane Ridge on her road bike. Spare time activities include hiking, photography, and yoga.
